• Mario Caribe Jazz Quartet

    Jazz with a Latin twist (and shout)! Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mario moved to Scotland to study, where was invited to join the Tommy Smith Sextet 'Beasts of Scotland', and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. He has played with many of the leading jazz musicians in the UK including Tommy Smith, Carol Kidd and Brian Kellock.

    Mario is extensively involved with Jazz Education, including workshops about Latin American Music, the NYJO and the Napier Jazz Summer Course.

    Blending the melodic and rhythmic influences of his Brazilian homeland with an exploratory contemporary jazz sensibility, Mario’s music ranges from luscious ballads to sizzling up-tempo burners. He is joined by Phil Bancroft (saxophone), Kevin MacKenzie (guitar) and Tom Gordon (drums)

  • Tasmin Little

    We are privileged to have one of the world's famous musicians playing for us in Dollar. Tasmin Little is an artist of international standing, recognised as one of the top violinists. She has performed on every continent in some of the most prestigious venues.

    Tasmin's recording of the Elgar Violin Concerto with Sir Andrew Davis and the RSNO garnered outstanding critical acclaim and was awarded the Critic's Choice Award in the 2011 Classic BRIT Awards.

    Tasmin is performing her project, 'The Naked Violin', aimed at breaking down barriers to classical music by releasing a free CD for download on her website , and performing in smaller community settings.

    We expect demand to be high for tickets, so booking is recommended.

  • Joy Dunlop Group

    Afternoon concert

    Joy Dunlop is a Gaelic singer from Argyll who has performed throughout the UK, Europe, Japan, Canada and New Zealand, showcasing Gaelic music and song in a contemporary way that always remains true to its roots.

    Nominated as Gaelic Singer of the Year 2016, 2011 and 2010, she has also won both the coveted Royal National Mòd Gold Medal and the Oban Times Gold Medal.

    A fluent Gaelic speaker, Joy presents shows on BBC ALBA and Radio nan Gàidheal. She is also an award winning Scottish step–dancer and is the only person to have won both the Pan Celtic traditional singing and dancing competitions.

    Joy will be performing a selection of songs in both Scottish Gaelic and English, in addition to exhilarating step dance dance/music collaborations.

    Dunlop’s vocals effortlessly cast a spell while the musical arrangements bring a fresh, modern quality to the traditional songs. Newsnet Scotland

  • Daniel Lebhardt

    At the age of 22 Daniel Lebhardt won 1st Prize at the 2014 Young Concert Artists auditions in Paris and New York. A year later, he was selected by Young Classical Artists Trust in London and in 2016 won the Most Promising Pianist prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition.

    Over the last year, Daniel has made his debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and the Usedomer Festival in Germany and recorded for Decca.

    Born in Hungary, Daniel studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and at the Royal Academy of Music with Pascal Nemirovski.

  • Kosmos Ensemble

    Prepare to be intoxicated by entrancing dance rhythms, soulful improvisation and gypsy passion delivered with inimitable panache and virtuoso technique.

    Kosmos Ensemble are Harriet MacKenzie (violin), Meg Hamilton (viola), Milos Milivojevic (accordion). They perform music with:

    An inspirational combination of Tango, Gypsy, Balkan and Japanese music referencing classical composers, with fearless improvisation and impeccable technique.

    All three members of Kosmos are soloists in their own right and have recorded concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Nova to critical acclaim.

    Fergus McCreadie will play a mix of his own compositions and jazz standards. Hes a rising star, so make use of this free recital!

    The Fergus McCreadie Trio have recently released their first album - fantastic maturity to build such an evocative soundscape. We might be hearing some of it!

    Free drink on arrival and snacks on the tables. The format is jazz cabaret style in the relaxed and informal surroundings of Dollar Golf Club. Come along and chat with other members, or just the refreshments and music.

    As usual there will be a short (15 minute) AGM.
